Night Crossing FREE for E-Readers and Smart Phones

in

I finally got round to editing and formatting "Night Crossing" (the short story that begins the adventures of Underwood and Flinch) for e-book release. I wanted to give it to you for free, which is at present a function Amazon don't allow to independant publishers like me, so I've published it via Smashwords.com.

So now the book is available for FREE in all e-book formats for all reader-devices (Kindle, Nook, iPhone, iPad, Palm, Sony Reader, etc etc) from one source. Just click the book cover to go to the Smashwords page and download it for whatever platform you like.

Oh, and while you're there, I'd be very grateful if you could leave some stars and maybe a brief review or comment if you have time.

And if you don't have an e-reader and you'd like to read the story, I've also published it at Wattpad.com.

Here you can read it on your computer or phone, and download it too if you like. At Wattpad (click the pic above) you can also leave a review or comment, plus they have a little "vote" icon to the side of the story, which I'd greatly appreciate you clicking.

Thanks vamps! It all helps to spread the U&F word Smile

Jon Cape has outdone himself this time; he's found some rare footage of Hitler's reaction to the news that he won't be able to download U&F 40!!

U&F for Android

in

Hello there. I'm not a smartphone user, so I know absolutely nothing about iPhones and Androids etc. However, Mark Reyes recently commented on the U&F Facebook page (which you should all be members of), that he's found a decent podcast client on an android tab. You can listen to U&F on BeyondPod for Honeycomb. Just search RSS for "Underwood" as keyword.

No doubt if you have an Android phone, that all makes perfect sense to you. But me? I'm baffled.

Mark also kindly attached a pic of what it looks like. So, here you go Android users.

Many thanks for sharing, Mark.

In other news, U&F 40 is now in the final writing stages. I hope to begin recording very soon. If you have any comments on the last episode (below) do share; (good) comments are motivational to me ... and I know you want me to be motivated, right? Smile

Character Portraits by Amanda Whipp

in

Amanda Whipp, a very talented young artist from Colorado, USA, has sent in two wonderful character portraits of people you may know rather well from my podcasts. Below is Amanda's portrait of Lord Underwood, and in the User Art Gallery at MikeBennettPodcast.com, you can also find Amanda's vision of Dusty from One Among the Sleepless. Fantastic work, Amanda! Many thanks for sharing! Smile

7th Annual Podcast Awards

in

The 7th Annual Podcast Awards just sent me an email saying they exist and would I like to get my audience to vote for me. Well, sure, that sounds like a good idea. However, they don't have a podcast novel category, so I suggest the categories to vote for U&F would be:

"Best Produced" Underwood and Flinch (podcast URL: http://mikebennett.libsyn.com)

"Entertainment" Underwood and Flinch (podcast URL: http://mikebennett.libsyn.com)

Don't be tempted (as I was) to nominate U&F in lots of categories because you're just spoiling your ballot sheet. I should have read the instructions first: Do not nominate the "same show" for People's Choice and Best Produced, nominate 2 different shows in the top two categories. You can then nominate each show in one additional category each.

So by hitting the categories I suggest above, we vote tactically and so stand a better chance of winning something Smile

If U&F wins something here, or even comes close, it could mean a sponsorship deal for U&F (which means I get a bit of money) and a lot more listeners. Wunderbar!!

To get the ballot sheet, click here. You only get one chance, so read the instructions carefully, then VOTE U&F! I thank you.
